Project Title: “Raising the Bar in Industrial Distribution”

Edited feature for Business in Focus Magazine

Client / Context:

As Content Marketing Manager and Documentation Lead at Galco Industrial Electronics, I collaborated with Business in Focus magazine to refine and edit a feature article (originally titled “Elevating the Standard of Distribution”) for publication. The assignment required ensuring factual accuracy, brand alignment, and editorial consistency while maintaining journalistic integrity.

Objective:

Transform the provided editorial draft into a publication-quality article that:

  • Accurately represents Galco’s technical expertise and corporate positioning

  • Aligns with brand voice and style

  • Corrects factual inconsistencies and redundancies

  • Enhances flow, tone, and readability for a professional audience

My Role:

  • Performed comprehensive technical editing for accuracy and clarity

  • Reorganized narrative flow for logical progression and conciseness

  • Revised quotations for tone and continuity while preserving authenticity

  • Aligned content with Galco’s corporate communications standards

  • Ensured consistent terminology (e.g., industrial distribution, automation, integration)

Results:

The final version was published in Business in Focus’s 2024 industrial issue, showcasing Galco’s leadership in automation and distribution. The revised piece strengthened Galco’s brand narrative and contributed to heightened visibility among key industry partners.

Excerpt (Before and After)

Original:

“When you think about what keeps a manufacturing floor running, chances are we provide nearly everything that makes it possible. From motors to drives to switches, relays, and beyond—we are right at the heart of automation, helping to power the industry forward,” says President and CEO, Allison Sabia.

Revised:

“We provide everything needed for automating a manufacturing floor—drives, connectors, switches, and more,” says CEO Allison Sabia. “What sets us apart is that we don’t just distribute products; we offer engineering services and repairs, ensuring customers get the support they need.”

Commentary:

The revised version condenses the original quote for readability, removes redundant phrasing, and ensures tone consistency. It also integrates product examples and service positioning to align with Galco’s branding.
